Swim Lessons- Day 1

Erik and Cairo and Nick and Mei are enrolled in a baby and parent swim class at the Arcata pool. Lessons are every Tuesday and Thursday at 5:15pm for the next four weeks.

Day 1: With high expectations for a baby who loves water, Daddy and Cairo got into the pool. Cairo cried. They bounced around in the water together. Cairo cried a little more. Cairo practiced swimming on her back and her tummy and watched other kids. Cairo cried some more. Then, Cairo watched Cousin Mei cry. Mei seemed to have the same opinion as Cairo about the swim lessons.

Overall, it wasn't actually that bad. Cairo wasn't hysterical, but more unsure of her environment and of something new. The pool is a little cooler than her baths, but after a very warm day here (I might say it was hot if I didn't know it was a lot cooler than Monrovia), cool water wasn't all that unwelcome. Hopefully, Cairo will spend more time at the next lesson playing in the water and less time clinging to her Daddy making the pool salty with her tears.
