Dressing Up

Just like with Cairo, we have fun with dressing Jonah up.  He doesn't seem to mind.  Some of his favorite items are a tiger mask (which he roars with while wearing), his jackets, and anything else Cairo hands him.  Cairo is working on her sharing.  So, when she gets out a skirt to wear (one of her favorite things), she gets one out for Jonah as well... I mean, skirts are great, why wouldn't he want to wear one, too?  Jonah went around with a skirt on all morning and through a nap and didn't think twice about it. Jonah also likes to join in with the cooking fun and put on an apron, too.

We are trying to get Cairo to independently start taking care of her daily routines, like making her bed, getting dressed, brushing her teeth, picking up her toys, etc.  Cairo has enthusiastically taken to picking out her clothes.  Her favorite color is pink and if it was up to her she would only wear pink everyday.  Sometimes I try to give suggestions (like wouldn't this shirt be pretty or it might be too cold for shorts) but in the end, she gets the final say.  I am just hoping when people see her is some of these outfits they realize it was her who picked out the outfit and not me.   One day Cairo picked out a light pink shirt and red and white shorts to wear.  The high for the day was going to be 60.  I said that it might be too cold for shorts, so she said, "Okay Mommy, I'll wear leggings with my shorts."  She then pulled out bright fuchsia legging.  With a hat to match her shorts, a red bag, and pink shoes she was a sight to see.  She was so proud of herself, too.
