We've had progress on multiple fronts lately. First, Cairo is getting more and more into soccer. Instead of clinging to my leg for the first half hour. She runs right out there and joins the rest of her team. Of course, keeping her with them and on task is a completely different story. Half the time Cairo is kicking the ball across the gym and chasing after it saying, "come back here ball," just to kick it again and continue chasing it. Then, of course, she has to stop for her lipstick break with Grammy, do some quality twirling, stop to smile for other people's pictures and videos, and occasionally chase the ball. Cairo is more interested in running after the kids (always at the back of the pack) and sitting down at random times than actually playing soccer. I probably spend most of my time telling Cairo to go and get the ball than anything else. Erik and I definitely agree that Cairo will probably be the kid picking daisies and doing cartwheels in the outfield. The most important thing, though, is that she is having fun.
Come back here ball!
For some reason, she kept standing in her toes- ballet meet soccer
The cheering croud
Actually on task... kind of. Daydreaming?
The second area of progress for Cairo is her hair. She is finally getting more interested in wearing ponytails. Normally, I put her hair up only to have her rip it out two seconds later. At her last soccer game she actually wore her hair up the whole time. Yeah for me! One of the things I was most looking forward to with my little girl was doing her hair!
