Screecher

On Thursday, the day before Cairo and I were supposed to fly out of town, Cairo learned a new trick- screeching and yelling. This is not the most desirable trick to have on an evening/ nighttime flight where people will probably want to sleep. Cairo really seems to enjoy hearing herself make a whole lot of racket (much to Erik's dismay).

Well, Cairo may look like Erik, but she sure does have my lungs. Here is a short clip of Cairo's new trick. At the end of this clip, Cairo got a little fussy. Most of the time, though, Cairo just keeps on happily going.

Mucho Personality

Cairo is a crack up. It is amazing that so much personality can be wrapped up in something so small. As the days go by Cairo is becoming more and more talkative. Her sounds are becoming more developed... and MUCH louder. She talks, sings, yells, coos... and laughs. She must have a great sense of humor because the craziest things set her off into a belly laugh. Here is another example of Cairo cracking up-

I came into the bedroom the other night and I couldn't seem to find the baby.... I wonder where she went? Hmmmm.....

Who does she look like?

I am pretty certain that Cairo takes after her dad in most all ways... the exceptions are her huge cheeks (they would be mine), her very cute lips (mine), and her crazy long tongue (Grandma Biggle). What do you think?

Halloween

Cairo's first Halloween has been fun. She wore a very soft and very cute frog outfit. It was a little warm today, so we were constantly taking her costume on and off. To this point, Cairo has been very tolerant of everything we have dressed her in... including sunglasses, hats, leg warmers, socks on her hands, etc. She seemed to enjoy her costume- especially the pieces she could get into her mouth.

Cairo went out and saw her daddy at work and met his boss wearing her cute costume. She also went to visit the Bowens next door; MeMe Debbie and the Musser, Marshall, Renden, and Feinner clan; Grandma Joy and Elenor (my old babysitter... a brave woman who was able to handle me at 3 months when I hated everyone but my mama); Uncle Tab; and Auntie Brenda and the Burwell and Ciccione #2 clan. All in all, a lot of people. By the time we made our last stop at Aunt Brenda's, Cairo was fast asleep in her carseat. She missed the AWESOME haunted house my cousin Tyler (and family) put together.

What does a baby get when trick-or-treating? Enfamil formula, of course! Her favorite treat... and, coincidentally, everywhere we went Cairo was given formula... hmmmmm.....

Once home, she woke up a little and her Auntie Heather got to enjoy her,she talked on Skype to G&G Dedini and Uncle Nick, Grandma Biggle took her to see neighbors, and one of my oldest friends, Dominique, came over with her son Vincent (who was dressed like a skunk!) It is amazing that as I am writing this, she is STILL awake. I am hoping that she will sleep through the night... something she hasn't been doing well with lately.

Cairo is Cracking Up.

Cairo thinks that it is the funniest thing when her grandma Diane shakes her head back and forth. Here she is getting cheered up after getting three shots at the doctor today.



Cairo's official stats today were 14 lbs. 3.5 oz. with a diaper on, 24.5 inches tall and 42 cm around the noggin'. She is now in the 50th to 75th percentile for her age in those stats. Way to grow Cairo.
