Disneyland

We took a trip to Disneyland this past weekend for Heather's 30th birthday. I never got my camera out, but Grammy snapped a few pictures. Cairo was much more aware than she was last year when we visited. She especially liked the Tiki Room.

Here is Cairo taking a 2 hour nap-

"Mommy, can I have THIS lollipop?"

4 Genertations

Nana, Grammy, Cairo, and I all starting the day chit chatting in bed. Tradition.

Pigtails

Since I found out that I was going to have a little girl, I have been anxiously awaiting the moment that I would get to put her hair up into little pigtails. Cairo was born with dark little fuzz on her head that eventually turned into a mullet. Around six months, all her hair fell out and I had a bald baby. Slowly her hair has grown in, thick and strawberry blond. Now she has a new mullet, fun.

So, last weekend I decided that Cairo finally had enough hair to put it up... and boy does she look cute! (Especially when she is looking up at you with a goofy smile saying "cheese") Doing the hair of a wiggly baby is definitely a challenge but I am getting better at it each day. While at Disneyland, someone said she looked like Boo from the movie Monsters Inc. Aside from Cairo's light colored hair (Boo's hair is dark) I would have to agree.

Back to Monrovia

Well, this past Saturday Erik, Cairo, Sienna, Guinness, and I all piled into out Jetta Wagon and headed back south to Monrovia. We really enjoyed our time up north this summer... time really flew by. As usual, we were sad to leave our home, family, and friends but I am excited to see baby Xander and get back to my classroom.

Here are some pictures of us enjoying our last night around our new (and not finished) fire pit, eating hot dogs and smores.

My cute little nephew- Xan-Man!

Surprise, it's Aunt Kimmie!

She's Walking!!!

Finally!!! Today, Cairo has decided that she is going to walk. Actually, it started yesterday when she was over at Erik's parents house playing with Cousin Mei. She walked from the couch to the chair in the living room. Then she can home and walked back and forth from Erik to me for a few minutes... but, nothing was like this evening. She walked across the room, though sometimes shakily, from one person to another. Here is a video of one of those person to person excursions...

Pictures

Last month my best friend Katie's brother took some pictures of Cairo. She wasn't in the best of moods but we got a few pictures of her happy... and a few of her crying, too!

Cheese!

While Cairo was eating lunch today I snapped a few pictures of her. In this first picture she is saying "cheese". Notice the hand she's holding her spoon with. Though we can't say for sure yet, Cairo may be a lefty. She tends to favor that hand over her right... even though she uses her right hand quite a bit, too.

Over the past few weeks Cairo has broken through four new teeth and is working on a few more. Please ignore the food on her face and check out her new teeth-

To ease her pain with teething, Cairo is biting and chewing on anything she can. At times she frantically searches for anything she can stuff in her mouth. A few times over the past couple of days, Cairo has even taken off her socks and stuffed them into her mouth. Yummy!
