Pee-Pee in the Potty

Yes, folks, she has done it. After using her little potty as a toy and a chair for the past six months Cairo has finally used it for its actual purpose- pee-pee! After seeing Mei use the potty last Saturday, Cairo finally figured out what she was supposed to use it for. So, after her shower on Sunday we sat her on the potty and she went pee. Oh, how the little things become so exciting. She followed it up the next day with an encore. We are so proud (and so is she). Thanks Mei!

Bubbles!

Cairo loves bath time and she LOVES bubbles. Though her vocabulary is getting quite large (we can't keep track of her daily array of new words), the one word she says clearly and completely without fail is bubbles.

Making Cookies and other random pictures

Cairo and I made pumpkin sugar cookies for Thanksgiving. Cairo helped me stir the ingredients together, roll out the dough, and cut the cookies. She was such a pro at making cookies that she also assisted my friend Katie and I making various types of cookies one afternoon this last week. I hope she learns to love making cookies because I sure do love to eat them!

Cairo, Erik, Xander, Debbie, and her granddaughter Annalaura went to Disneyland for one afternoon this December. While there there they decorated big cookies. Here is Cairo's cookie-

After a hard-day at play-

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Erik celebrated his 31st birthday on December 8th. To celebrate, Erik and I went away for the weekend to the beach (thanks for the hotel Heather!) and enjoyed our time away baby-less... that is, of course, until we missed her. So, Grammy brought her down to us for the second day. We took no pictures of our weekend way(a common occurrence lately).

Here are a few pictures of Cairo helping Daddy unwrap his presents.

Cheese!

Cairo is forever hamming it up for the camera. Smile for the camera, Cairo! Here are a few (and I mean few) of her cheesy pictures...

I wonder where she gets it from...

Weeeeeee!

"Weeeee" is the words Cairo uses for a slide. Cairo has found that slides are one of her favorite past times. Cairo is fearless when she goes down the slide... and she wants to do it over and over again. She kept trying to go down on her stomach or head-first on her back, but mommy wasn't quite ready for her to take things to that level.

When we were up at Nana and Papa's house for Thanksgiving we took an outing to "Swing-swing" Park (aka Waller Park) one of our favorite past times as kids. It is a large county park complete with two ponds and ducks, dog park, multiple play grounds, lots of trees and paths to walk on, a frisbee-golf course, baseball fields, grassy hills to roll down, volleyball nets, BBQs and benches, fat squirrels, and a pony ride!
The ponies weren't out when we were there but, then, I don't think Cairo is quite big enough for them.

Cairo and Danny

Cairo loves her Uncle Danny... or should I say "Nanny." As the days go by the N on the Nanny is slowly being replaced by a D sound. Uncle Danny is great! They play computers together and they play dolls together and he's always ready for a big hug. Cairo can go weeks without seeing him and she still lights up when he comes around. For some strange reason he is one of her favorite people.
