When Daddy's and Babies spend too much time together...

Up in Arcata

We spent a week together, as a family, up in our cute little house in Bayside. It is nice to get back to Bayside and slow down and just enjoy each other and the wonderful life we have.

Cairo got to spend some time playing with her big (but smaller) cousin Mei, who is the funniest thing I have ever seen. I wish I had some pictures of my silly little niece making all of her funny faces! Erik said that it was funny watching Cairo and Mei crawl around together in a small little herd... he wasn't sure what one calls a heard of babies crawling around, but there has to be a name for it. Mei seemed to really like her uncle Erik...

Cairo is getting much more comfortable on her feet. At first, little twinkle toes, would only stand on her very, very tippy toes or she would curl her foot and stand on the top side of her toes. Now, Cairo is spending more time on her flat feet, more time scaling the furniture and the walls, and more time bumping her noggin'... just like dad!

At 10 months Cairo is a whirl of activity. I keep reminding myself of the days she was just a lump on the floor, those days when I was hoping she would start crawling around... now I often wish for that lump again- she wears me out! I think Cairo is starting her terrible twos a little early. This past week or so she began a new trick when she was upset or didn't get something she wanted... she'd take a deep breath, then yell as loud and as long as that breath would let her, then repeat. I think she's mine! Here is Cairo playing with her "wand"...

TIMBERRRRR....

Cairo can now recognize her bottle and says Ba-ba, which is similar to her Daddy, Da-da, Mommy, Ma-ma, and doggies, dog-dog... see a theme? She likes twos.

The Piano

Cairo is starting to really love pounding away at those piano keys. Cairo will also hum and sing and rock back and forth to music.

Cairo does have music in her blood- my Grandma Biggle and Great-grandpa Marks and Erik's mom, Grandma Jill, were/are superb piano players. Erik's brother, Uncle Nick, also plays somewhere between 30 to 40 instruments (small exaggeration)... and let's not forget Cairo's very, very handsome Daddy plays the guitar...

Here is Cairo on the piano with her Grandpa Biggle (who also loves to play those same classic songs I have heard him play my entire life... over and over and over again!)

Papa and Cairo

On April 4th, Erik, Cairo, and I headed up north to Arcata for my spring break. On the way up, we stopped at my Nana and Papa's house overnight to visit. Cairo showed off her new talent (crawling over everything and pulling herself up on stuff) and spent some time dazzling her Nana and Papa.
